Angel's Son

written by lead singer Lajon Witherspoon , this was originally recorded acoustically and written for and about James Lynn Strait of the band Snot. Strait died in a car wreck in December of 1998 along with his dog. Apparently, he lived a life battling an addiction as mentioned by Sevendust on their DVD Retrospect.

The song also appears on the CD Strait Up, which was released in November of 2000 and contains tracks recorded by Jonathan Davis of Korn, Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit, Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray, Brandon Boyd of Incubus and many others who were good friends of James Lynn Strait.
