Back In The Box Song Chart

This is the opening track on Johnny Marr's Playland album. "When I wrote the first song, 'Back In The Box', I knew it would be the opener," Marr told NME, because it's just a celebration of euphoria and ecstasy."

Marr described this to Q magazine as, "a good old-fashioned love song."

Johnny Marr expanded on the song's meaning to DIY magazine: "I'm singing about transcendence and euphoria and ecstatic states, either hearing a record you like, waking up on a sunny morning, being in love," he said. "Or schizophrenia, drugs, all these things that can make you have a euphoric experience."
