DJ/producers Fatboy Slim and Riva Starr enlisted beatboxer Beardyman to provide the vocal hook for this banger. Beardyman's real name is Darren Foreman. He came up with his moniker after quickly needing a nickname for a flyer for an early show, at a time when he'd grown a beard.
The song was inspired by a strange encounter in New York. "Me and Riva were out vinyl shopping in Williamsburg, Brooklyn earlier this year when we met this dude ranting in the street about some 3-day bender he had been on," recalled Fatboy, "We hooked him into our serato and chopped him up into a tune. I just wish we'd caught his full name."
The song's remix by Calvin Harris was released on October 27, 2013 in the United Kingdom as the single, with the original version being included on the EP. It became Fatboy Slim's first Biritish Top 10 hit since "Star 69" in 2001 and Riva Starr's debut UK chart entry.
In 2006 Beardyman became UK Beatbox Champion. When he retained his title the following year, he became the first beatboxer in UK history to win two championships in a row.
The song's music video features 250 contestants in a marathon dance endurance contest. Fatboy Slim said of the clip, "I take off my hat and trousers to everyone who competed. It was brutal, it was emotional and no-one died."
