Later On Lyrics

Hey baby won't you tell me what you've got going on
Just a little Later On tonight
How about you and me get together have a couple drinks
Well don't you think that sounds like, a good time

You start stridin' over
We can't get no closer
Ain't no room in the middle
Girl watcha' doin' a little later
Let's go start a fire
How about you and I get this thing movin' shakin' grovin'
Baby tell me what your doin'
Later on, later on, later on, later on, later on, later on

Girl you're shining like a movie star
And y'know you look so good
I can't stop starin'
And I can tell that you're feelin' it too
What you wanna do with that smile you're wearin'
Oh yea

What you say we got lost lets go
Spend a couple hours just gettin'
To know each other out there in the moonlight glow
And when we get alone

You start stridin' over
We can't get no closer
Ain't no room in the middle
Girl watcha' doin' a little later
Let's go start a fire
How about you and I get this thing movin' shakin' grovin'
Baby tell me what your doin'
Later on, later on, later on, later on
Yea

You start stridin' over
We can't get no closer
Ain't no room in the middle
Girl watcha' doin' a little later
Let's go start a fire
How about you and I get this thing movin' shakin' grovin'
Baby tell me what your doin'
Later on, later on, later on, later on, later on, later on

That come on feeling getting strong
Drink it up 'till it's gone
This is what we're waiting on
Later on, later on, yeah!

Later On
  • The Muskogee, Oklahoma Country sibling act Zach and Colton Swon grew up right down the street from Carrie Underwood, and the three shared a stage many times together throughout their childhood years. Traveling with their parents' southern Gospel group Exodus, the boys were singing and writing songs practically as soon as they could walk. In 1995, the Swon Brothers' parents formed a family-style variety show called Westwood Music Show, in which the pair first started performing in the country music genre. Five years later when they were 12 and 15, the siblings started calling themselves The Swon Brothers, and appeared in various venues.

Auditioning in 2007 for American Idol after witnessing Carrie Underwood's massive success on the talent competition, Colton made it all the way to the Top 48. Zach never tried out because he didn't feel comfortable without an instrument in his arms.

The Swons spent the subsequent years performing around their home state and releasing a couple of independent albums that were well-received among their ever-growing fan base. The sibling pair achieved national fame in 2013, when they finished in third place on the fourth season of The Voice.

The duo signed a record deal with Arista on November 1, 2013 and released this romantic-night-in story as their first official single, the following month. The song shot to #1 on iTunes' Country Top Songs within 24 hours.
  • The song officially impacted Country radio on March 3, 2014. It received 81 combined Country Aircheck and Billboard adds in its first seven days on radio, the most one-week adds of any debut single in Country Aircheck history.
  • The tune was penned by Ryan Hurd (Jake Owen's "Surefire Feeling") and newcomers Joey Hyde, and Justin Wilson. It was produced by Mark Bright (Carrie Underwood, Sara Evans).
  • The Swon Brothers knew as soon they heard this song that they wanted to cut it. "What made us pick 'Later On' was just those harmony-driven lines," Zach said. "It's just one of those songs that stuck with us, you know. We listened to over a thousand songs probably, to put on the record. We just had an attraction to it and loved it."

"It's simple enough for people to remember," he added. "It also just hits this sweet spot that me and Colton create this brother harmony together that I think really compliments us."

    This Side of Heaven Lyrics

Four years old, dressed up like a super hero
Always smiling, never showing he ain't well
His mom and daddy held his hand through all the chemo
And sometimes This Side of Heaven is hell

Sara Rollins, she left home right out of high school
Felt the call to serve the day those towers fell
She came back home today underneath the flag
    And a twenty-one gun salute
Sometimes this side of heaven is hell

Somewhere right now a thousand tears are falling
Somewhere right now a heart's all out of break
Sometimes it feels like God don't hear us calling out for help
Sometimes this side of heaven is hell

Young couple laugh and cry and celebrate
Two little pink lines showed up clear as a bell
    But their world crashed down
When the ultrasound found no heartbeat
Sometimes this side of heaven is hell

Somewhere right now a thousand tears are falling
Somewhere right now a heart's all out of break
Sometimes it feels like God don't hear us calling out for help
Sometimes this side of heaven is hell

Sometimes this side of heaven is hell

I know that on the other side there's healing
Jesus said there ain't no sorrow up there
But sometimes it takes all I've got to hold onto the promise
That only this side of heaven is hell

Somewhere right now bells and tears are falling
Somewhere right now a heart's all out of break
Sometimes it feels like God don't hear us calling out for help
Sometimes this side of heaven is hell

But only this side of heaven is hell

  • The Swon Brothers close their debut eponymous album with this Adam Craig, Jeff Middleton and Josh Thompson penned chill-bumper. Said Zach Swon, "It's rare that a song grabs me on first listen, but that one just stuck in my head immediately. It's such a sad song, but it's so uplifting, too. I think it's one of the most well-written songs I've ever heard."
