On Top Of The World

This upbeat track finds Imagine Dragons celebrating a breakthrough for the band after striving for years to become successful. The song originally appeared on the band's major-label debut EP Continued Silence, before appearing on their debut studio album Night Visions. Released as the LP's third single, it topped the chart in Portugal and also reached the Top Ten in Australia, Austria, The Netherlands and New Zealand.

The Matt Eastin and Corey Fox directed video was filmed in Utah and plays on the long-held conspiracy theory that the first moon landing was staged. Blades Of Glory actor Jon Heder has a cameo as a Russian cosmonaut. Other people to appear in the video include Raising Hope's Whit Hertford, the cast of Studio C, Nico Vega singer Aja Volkman, and Fictionist guitarist Robbie Connolly.

The visual also contains a number of several blink-and-you'll-miss-it moments, including several nods to Stanley Kubrick films and the Paul is dead urban legend that surrounded the Beatles (see the white car's changing license plate around the one-minute mark). "It's a very different video; if you've watched our videos, you know to expect the unexpected. But I think this is my favorite," frontman Dan Reynolds told MTV News. "There's a lot going on it it, some if it is subliminal. 'Sno Gard.' I'll say that. It has no meaning to you, but when you see the video, you'll be like 'Sno Gard ... okay, Dan gave me a good hint.'"

The phrase "Sno Gard" — which is "Dragons" spelled backwards features several times in the clip.

The song was licensed for inclusion on the soundtrack of the FIFA 13 and Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 video games. Other appearances in the media include serving as the opening theme of the short-lived CBS comedy series Partners and being used in a Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 advert.

This was performed by the PS22 Chorus during Barack Obama's second United States presidential inauguration.

Stockholm Syndrome

This is about a relationship that you feel trapped in (The term "Stockholm Syndrome" was coined by a Swedish doctor after hostages in a Stockholm bank robbery started to identify and even become attracted to their captors - the term is used to describe an instance of loving someone who holds you captive) but is going nowhere (references to flying, falling and burning; loving hoping and dying to no avail). The chorus is like an apology for abandoning and forgetting the other person, but secretly wishing that it was over: "The last time I'll forget you - I wish I could."

The solo and outro are played the exact same way as the intro, just in a different speed and key.

This began life as a filler riff during live shows until the band decided to expand it into a full song.

This was the first released on Absolution (Muse's third studio album) and was available as a download-only single. In summer 2005 it was released for the first time in the US.

The video was shot with thermal imaging, and cuts between a hostage situation (where the original term Stockholm Syndrome originated), and the band. The word "Prisoner" is written on skin several times, and the word "Captor" is scrawled on a wall at the start.

This is the lead single from Leona Lewis' Christmas collection album Christmas, With Love. The song is about special occasions from a child's point of view. The singer told Perez Hilton that she wanted to express the happiness that comes from anticipation of a big event. "'One More Sleep is basically, it's a thing that a lot of kids say like, there's three days left until we're doing something fun," Lewis explained. "Like it's your birthday or Christmas, you'll be like "oh its three more sleeps left, count down to one more sleep left!" And 'One More Sleep' is really about that feeling."

"For me I'm on promo and touring and I'm away for so much of the year, but Christmas day is the one day I look forward to the most because I know I'm getting a day off," Lewis continued. When the song climbed to #3 in its second week on the UK singles chart, Lewis became the first British female solo artist to achieve eight UK Top Five hits. She previously was tied on seven with Olivia Newton-John.

Christmas, With Love represents Lewis' first foray into Motown music. She told Billboard magazine: "With Motown, it's been so present in my upbringing and my musical background, but I had never done a studio recording of it. I think that we got that across in the recordings, with all the live sounds, the brass section and the hugeness of it. And it came together really quickly - we got in the studio in the summer and just had an amazing time recording."

Lewis recorded her Christmas, With Love album in the height of summer. "I thought, 'Oh, this is going to be so weird. How am I going to feel Christmas-y?,'" she told Elle magazine. "First off, I recorded it in the UK, which is not the sunniest [place]. Of course this summer was literally like the sunniest on record."

"It ended up being a blessing in disguise because I started playing loads of Christmas songs and really kind of delving into all of these kind of classics," Lewis continued. "And I discovered some really amazing recordings that I probably never would have had I not had to really get into that kind of Christmas vibe."

Little Me

This stripped-back ballad finds Little Mix singing about what they'd say to their younger selves, given the chance. They would encourage their 'little mes' to speak up for themselves and stand tall.

This samples at the start and end of the song the melody from French composer Faure's "Pavane." The Wimbledon Choral Society's recording of the 1887 classical work reached #20 in the UK Singles Chart after being used by the BBC as the theme for their coverage of the 1998 World Cup.

Little Mix's Jesy explained to The Metro that the girls wrote the track as advice for their young fans: "Little Me is about how there are so many things you used to worry about when you were little," she said. "Just the stupidest little things, and then as you get older you just think back and go 'I wish I'd have done this or I wish I'd done that.'"

Noel Gallagher (from Q magazine, May 2005): "Our poppiest thing since Roll With It. Annoyingly catchy and sounds a bit like The Who."

This was the 7th UK #1 hit for Oasis.

Sony's insistence that this should be released as the first single from the album helped to fuel the tension between the band and their record label, which led to Oasis not renewing their contract with Sony following the release of Don't Believe the Truth.

When Noel Gallagher was asked who Lyla was, he answered "Sally's Sister," referring to "Sally" who is mentioned in the song "Don't Look Back In Anger." Sally is a name he made up for that song, so he's implying that he did the same with Lyla.

Liam was not impressed with the song's music video. He recalled to Spin magazine in a 2011 interview, "Some of the videos we did were f---ing shocking. 'Lyla,' for example - we look like f---ing Culture Club on s--t acid."

Liam Gallagher added to NME regarding the clip in a 2013 interview; "It was meant to be a rock 'n' roll circus thing, like the Stones, but it turned into some Culture Club sh--e."
