Drake shared the studio version of this slow, spacey love song on April 3, 2014 after previously debuting it live the previous month in Birmingham, England. Many believe it is directed at the Toronto MC's girlfriend Rihanna.
At the start of the breakdown there are background vocals sampled directly from Rihanna's single "Stay." The line "I threw my hands in the air, said, 'Show me something'" can be heard, further fueling the rumors that it is the Bajan singer on Drake's mind in this song.
The track finds Drake sipping tea with Erykah Badu where they, "talked about love and what life could really be for me." The neo soul songstress is a friend of the Toronto MC. In one instance she tweeted encouragement to him to respond to Kendrick Lamar's "Control" verse where he challenged Drake and other hip-hop's big guns to raise their game. In 2015, Badu released a popular cover of Drake's "Hotline Bling."
The song was produced by frequent collaborator Noah "40" Shebib and October's Very Own label roster member, PartyNextDoor,
