Ordinary Day Lyrics

Just a day, just an, Ordinary Day
Just tryin' to get by
Just a boy, just an, ordinary boy but
He was looking to the sky and
As he asked if I would come along
I started to realize that everyday he finds just what he's lookin' for
And like a shooting star he shines, and he said

Take my hand, live while you can,
Don't you see your dreams lie right in the palm of your hand

And as he spoke, he spoke, ordinary words
Though they did not feel
For I felt what I had not felt before
And you'd swear those words could heal and
As I looked up into those eyes, his vision borrows mine
And I know he's no stranger
For I feel I've held him for all of time, and he said

(chorus)

Please come with me, see what I see
Touch the stars for time will not flee
Time will not flee, can't you see

Just a dream, just an, ordinary dream
As I wake in bed
And that boy, that ordinary boy
Was it all in my head?
Didn't he ask if I would come along
It all seemed so real, but as I looked to the door
I saw that boy standing there with a deal, and he said

(chorus)

Just a day, just an ordinary day
Just tryin' to get by
Just a boy, just an ordinary boy, but
He was looking to the sky

Ordinary Day
  • The message of this song is that you should never take anything for granted and always have faith. Take one day at a time, always try to look at someone from the inside, and have an open mind about what someone has to say.
  • This was Carlton's second single. It was the follow-up to her first hit, "A Thousand Miles." (thanks, Shana - Radcliff, KY, for above 2)

    Let Me Down Gently Lyrics

    Let Me Down Gently
    That's what I think I need
But when you let me down gently
It still feels it hard, hard
    Turn me into someone good
    That’s what I really need
Tell me that I’m someone good
So we’re not so far apart, apart
I hope it doesn't seem like I’m young, foolish and green
Let me in for a minute
You're not my life but I want you in it

    Set me up I’m slowly
That’s what you do to me
Oh you set me up slowly
Now I can’t come down, down
    Let you down gently
That's what I think you need
But when I let you down you're empty
And you try to hide your frowns, frowns
I hope it doesn't seem like I’m young, foolish and green
Let me in for a minute
You're not my life but I want you in it

And I hope it's sinking in
    Left behind your perfect skin
    There’s a part of you that’s free
And I know that there’s a place for me

    Let me down gently
    That's what I think I need
But when you let me down gently
    It still feels hard, hard
    Turn me into someone good
    That’s what I really need
Tell me that I’m someone good
So we’re not so far apart, apart

I hope it doesn't seem like I’m young and foolish and green
Let me in for a minute
You're not my life but I want you in it

And I hope it's sinking in
    Left behind your perfect skin
    There’s a part of you that’s free
And I know that there’s a place for me

    Let Me Down Gently
  • Singer Elly Jackson and producer Ben Langmaid decamped to a cottage in the Welsh countryside in 2011 to record their second album, Trouble in Paradise. "I'm not going to stop writing until we've got songs that can compete on the same level as 'In For The Kill' and 'Bulletproof,'" Jackson promised NME at the beginning of the writing process.

However Jackson found herself unable to sing falsetto. "All that would come out is the sound of air," she recalled glumly to Billboard magazine. "Nothing else."

Jackson was eventually diagnosed with residual muscle tension brought on by a form of performance anxiety and the problem was eventually solved with the aid of a confidence therapist. However progress remained slow and after a disagreement on the direction the record should take, Jackson and Langmaid parted ways in February 2012. Jackson carried on working on the set with producer Ian Sherwin, who'd engineered a portion of her debut.

A 2013 release was touted then failed to materialise. "You have to make the record that you want to make, when you want to make it," Jackson told Billboard. "However frustrating it might be for management, the label or even my own career, I'm not going to do something unless I feel that it's the best thing that I can possibly do."

Eventually a release date of July 7, 2014 was given and this breakup anthem was uploaded to La Roux's official SoundCloud on May 12, 2014 as the album's teaser track.
  • This was one of the songs that Jackson and Langmaid fell out over. "That was one of the ones Ben wasn't into," Jackson told The Observer, revealing that it almost never saw the light of day.

Jackson added that Langmaid refused to consider several songs she'd written, but the pair also drifted apart personally. "On the first record we would talk a lot and it became very emotional," she explained. "One of [Langmaid's] biggest roles was [being that person] I could go and talk to about lots of very personal stuff at length and then write about. But for want of a better way of saying it, I didn't need that any more. I felt I could do that with a number of people."

    On My Way Lyrics

My words are wrapped in barbwire
My actions speak for what I can't say
'Cause I fall one step forward
To push you away, push you away

I wish that I could listen
To all the advice that I give away
But it's hard to see things clearly
Through all of the pain, all of the pain

I'm caught in the rain, caught in the rain

And my heart's too drunk to drive
I should stay away from you tonight
But in this blackout state of mind
Baby all I want is you tonight

When my head tells me "no"
    My heart tells me "go"
So I'm hitting in the road 'cause I

I know my heart's too drunk to drive
But I'm On My Way to you
    Yeah, I'm on my way
To you, you, to you tonight
I'm on my way to you, you
To you, I'm on my way

    Yeah there's a million voices
    Screaming that this love's a dead-end road
But the only voice that I hear
Is telling me "go", telling me "go"

    The sun is rising sober
While passion fades and I'm on my own
    My helpless heart's hangover
I'm all out of hope, all out of hope

Where do we go? Where do we go?

Cause my heart's too drunk to drive
I should stay away from you tonight
But in this blackout state of mind
Baby all I want is you tonight

When my head tells me "no"
    My heart tells me "go"
So I'm hitting the road 'cause I

I know my heart's too drunk to drive
But I'm on my way to you
    Yeah, I'm on my way
To you, you, to you tonight
I'm on my way to you, you
To you, I'm on my way

And no one's words can stop me
I'm past the point of no return
No matter how it hurts me
I'm running to you, running to you

And my heart's too drunk to drive
I should stay away from you tonight
But in this blackout state of mind
Baby all I want is you tonight

When my head tells me "no"
    My heart tells me "go"
So I'm hitting the road 'cause I

    Too Much To Ask Lyrics

It's the first time I ever felt this lonely
I wish someone could cure this pain
It's funny when you think its gonna work out
'Til you chose weed over me, you're so lame

I thought you were cool until the point
But up until the point you didn't call me
    When you said you would
I finally figured out you're all the same
Always coming up with some kind of story

Every time I try to make you smile
You're always feeling sorry for yourself
Every time I try to make you laugh
    You can't
    You're too tough
    You think you're loveless
Is that too much that I'm asking for?

I thought you'd come around when I ignored you
So I thought you'd have the decency to change
But babe, I guess you didn't take that warning
'Cause I'm not about to look at your face again

Can't you see that you lie to yourself
You can't see the world through a mirror
It won't be too late when the smoke clears
'Cause I, I am still here

But every time I try to make you smile
You'd always grow up feeling sorry for yourself
Every time I try to make you laugh
    You stand like a stone
    Alone in your zone
Is it too much that I'm asking for?

    Yeah yeah yeah yeah
    Can't find where I am
    Lying here
    Alone I fear
    Afraid of the dark
    No one to claim
    Alone again

Can't you see that you lie to yourself
You can't see the world through a mirror
It won't be too late when the smoke clears
'Cause I, I am still here

Every time I try to make you smile
You're always feeling sorry for yourself
Every time I try to make you laugh
    You can't
    You're too tough
    You think you're loveless
It was too much that I asked you for

  • Everyone knows that one special person that you would give anything for if they noticed you. It could be your crush or just a friend. Avril also talks about how you always want to make them happy, but they always go and try to act tough, looking in the mirror fixing their hair, not smiling, and lying to themselves. Always feeling so sad and sorry for themselves, like the world's crashed and burned. Then, when you need them the most, they abandon you and you feel so lonely and cold... by yourself. (thanks, Shana - Radcliff, KY)
  • On her My World DVD, from her Try To Shut Me Up Tour, Avril tells the crowd that this is a song about a boy she met over the summer when she was 14... who said he'd call but he never did. (thanks, hope - naperville, IL)

You Don't Know What to Do Lyrics

    You need to go
Don't look so surprised (You better sing girl, sing, sing, sing)
    'Cause we had love
    That will be immortalized
    Say you need me now
    So alone without me now
But our little romance is through
    Because basically boy, you
You just don't know what to do oh

I can give it to you, but what you gonna do
With it, if I hit it? I bet you stuck stupid
Sucking your teeth, don't fuck up my mood
I'm trying to give it all to you
I can understand it's things we go through
Put C's on your bag, let see this here through
And we can be a size receipts from Nobul
But I gotta get it out of you
She said "'Le throw a ring on it!"
She don't love you unless she put your whole name on it
Gettin' money, yea this age is hard
Not the datin', I act a way
When all the pretty bitches love you but you'll stay precious

I miss you almost half as much as you miss me
You used to act so tough, bringing insecurity
Now that I found myself, your eggin' to be mine
Can't even help yourself from playing the fool each night

    Ooh, how I loved you
    Ooh, how I needed you
Ooh, boy I feel brand new
Ooh, since you turned me lose

    Baby, you don't know what
    You don't know what
You Don't Know What to Do

    You don't know what
    You don't know what
You don't know what to do

    'Cause you wanna leave
    And you never go
    I'ma set you free boy
    Baby, you don't know

    You don't know what
    You don't know what
You don't know what to do

    You don't know what
    You don't know what
You don't know what to do

You love me more than you love sunny summer days
And even more than you love floating in a haze
Boy when you lost my heart, you lost everything
Now all that you can do is listen to me sing

Ooh, how I loved you (how I loved you boy)
    Ooh, how I needed you
Ooh, boy I feel brand new
Ooh, since you turned me lose boy

    You don't know what
    You don't know what
You don't know what to do

    You don't know what
    You don't know what
You don't know what to do

She wanna leave (She said she wanna leave)
Then you never go (Then you never go)
I'm a set you free (I'm a set you free)
    'Cause baby you don't know

    You don't know what
    You don't know what
You don't know what to do

    You don't know what
    You don't know what
You don't know what to do

I can give it to you, but what you gon' do
Win it, if I hit it, I bet you stuck stupid
A model that I got, no class in this school
Take your bags and go boo
Never mind all of the flexin' I do
Balenciagas, got me two steppin' on a smooth
Never will I lower my standards my boo
I could show you we're attendants like Sampras on Que
That's kinda funny 'cause love still mean lose
Unless we kill the record and back-and-forth moves
Somehow you keep showing you act I see through it
Um, did you catch it? Ah screw it
All the girls need is respect and I do it
Never catch feelings 'cause Jet's is my fuel
Giuseppe my foot, my sweats be D'Honneur
Success is sweatin' me bet you ain't know her!

    You don't know what
    You don't know what

    You don't know
You don't know what you do to me

You Don't Know What to Do
  • This upbeat, emancipating song finds Carey leaving her lover and feeling good. Rapper Wale adds a couple of verses in which he tells his girl that he thinks they should stay together and work through their problems. Carey debuted the song on the Today show during the show's summer concert series.
  • Carey wrote the song in Atlanta with co-manager and longtime collaborator Jermaine Dupri ("We Belong Together," "Always Be My Baby").
  • The song interpolates Inner Life's 1979 disco rave up "I'm Caught Up (In a One Night Love Affair)."

    I'm With You Lyrics

    I'm standing on a bridge
    I'm waitin' in the dark
I thought that you'd be here by now
    There's nothing but the rain
    No footsteps on the ground
I'm listening but there's no sound

Isn't anyone tryin' to find me?
Won't somebody come take me home
    It's a damn cold night
Trying to figure out this life
Won't you take me by the hand
    Take me somewhere new
I don't know who you are
    But I, I'm With You

    I'm looking for a place
    I'm searching for a face
    Is anybody here I know
    Cause nothings going right
    And everything's a mess
And no one likes to be alone

Isn't anyone tryin' to find me?
Won't somebody come take me home
    It's a damn cold night
Trying to figure out this life
Won't you take me by the hand
    Take me somewhere new
I don't know who you are
    But I, I'm with you

Oh why is everything so confusing
Maybe I'm just out of my mind
    Yea yea yea

    It's a damn cold night
Trying to figure out this life
Won't you take me by the hand
    Take me somewhere new
I don't know who you are

    I'm With You
  • When you're all alone, by yourself, you can feel horrible. Avril knows this feeling and in the song, she tells you how she felt when she went through it. You feel like you're so lonely and scared, trying to find yourself and figure everything out, but you just can't. You wish someone would help you, but no one does, until one person picks you up and helps you from up from the floor. (thanks, Shana - Radcliff, KY)
  • Another interpretation: A girl grows up and becomes a prostitute. She hates her life but can't get out of it. The chorus is: "It's a damn cold night Trying to figure out this life Won't you take me by the hand take me somewhere new I don't know who you are but I, I'm with you I'm with you..." This could be about being with a John and having sex with him. (thanks, Marcos - Westville, OK)
  • The video was directed by David LaChapelle, who worked on Christina Aguilera's "Dirrty" video. (thanks, Britney - Calabasas, CA)
  • Barbadian recording artist Rihanna sampled this song for her 2010 track Cheers (Drink To That). Lavigne told Entertainment Weekly she was thrilled that Rihanna borrowed from one of her most-loved tunes. Said the Canadian pop-punker: "It was really exciting because 'I'm With You' is one of my favorite songs that I've done, I always love performing it. And I think Rihanna's awesome, she has great songs, she's a really great singer, so yeah I was excited. I think it's really cool."
  • Lavigne told Digital Spy in a 2013 interview that she considers this to be her best song. She explained: "It's still a challenging song vocally and the crowd always get into it."

    All I wanna do
Is keep it live, keep it live
    Just keep you satisfied
    All I wanna do
Is make it right, make it right
    Is make you smile tonight
    All I wanna do
    Is give you that thing
Play you that song you and your girlfriend sing
    All I wanna do
    Is get you back tonight
I gotta get her, go get her, go get her, go Get Her Back
I gotta get her, go get her, go get her, go get her back
I gotta treat her right whoah, I gotta cherish for life
I gotta get her, go get her, go get her, go get her tonight

I never should have raised my voice
Or made you feel so small
I never should have asked you to do anything at all
I should have kissed you longer
I should have held you stronger
And I'll wait for forever for you to love me again

    All I wanna do
Is keep it live, keep it live
    Just keep you satisfied
    All I wanna do
Is make it right, make it right
    Is make you smile tonight
    All I wanna do
    Is give you that thing

    All I wanna do
    Is get you back tonight
I gotta get her, go get her, go get her, go get her back
I gotta get her, go get her, go get her, go get her back
I gotta treat her right whoa, I gotta cherish for life
I gotta get her, go get her, go get her, go get her tonight
    Oh, it’s so hard
    It’s so hard
    Oh, it’s so hard
    Oh, it’s so hard
But it doesn’t have to be

    'Cause all I wanna do
Is keep it live all night
    Just keep you satisfied
    All I wanna do
Is make it right, make it right
    Is make you smile tonight

I gotta get her, go get her, go get her, go get her back
I gotta treat her right whoa, I gotta cherish for life
I gotta get her, go get her, go get her, go get her tonight

    All I wanna do
Is keep it live, keep it live
    Just keep you satisfied
    All I wanna do
Is make it right, make it right
    Is make you smile tonight
    All I wanna do
    Is give you that thing
Play you that song you and your girlfriend sing
    All I wanna do
    Is get you back tonight
I gotta get her, go get her, go get her, go get her back
I gotta get her, go get her, go get her, go get her back
I gotta treat her right whoa, I gotta cherish for life
I gotta get her, go get her, go get her, go get her tonight

    Get Her Back
  • Robin Thicke and Paula Patton had been involved since they were in their teens. However, the pair separated in February 2014 after eight years of marriage. This heartfelt ballad finds Thicke trying to convince his estranged wife to forgive him for not showing more appreciation for her.

    I should've kissed you longer
    I should've held you stronger,
All I wanna do is make it right.
I gotta get her, go get her back
    I gotta treat her right
I gotta cherish her for life

Thicke debuted the song at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards on May 18, 2014. Before performing the tune Thicke accepted the Billboard award for Top R&B song for "Blurred Lines" and thanked his wife for "her love and support and putting up with me for all these years."
  • The Jonas Akerlund directed video mixes shots of a battered and bloodied Thicke with images of a female model who resembles a younger Patton. As Thicke croons his "baby, please come back to me" lyrics, a text message conversation about his wrongdoings flashes onscreen.

    Galveston Lyrics

    Galveston oh Galveston
I still hear your sea winds blowing
I still see her dark eyes glowing
she was 21 and I love Galveston

    Galveston oh Galveston
I still hear your sea waves crashing
while I watch the cannon's flashing
I clean my gun and dream of Galveston

I still see her standing by the water
standing there looking out to sea
and is she waiting there for me
on the beach where we used to run

    Galveston oh Galveston
I am so afraid of dying
before I dry the tears she's crying
before I watch your seabirds flying in the sun
    at Galveston at Galveston

    Galveston
  • This was written by songwriter Jimmy Webb, who also wrote Campbell's hits "By the Time I Get to Phoenix" and "Wichita Lineman." Webb also wrote "MacArthur Park," which was a hit for both Richard Harris and Donna Summer, and "Up-Up and Away," which was recorded by The 5th Dimension.

When we spoke with Jimmy Webb in 2011, he said: "Glen was very, very good at commercializing my songs. He could come up with great intros and great solos, great breaks, and he wrote perfect strings, because he wrote very little. It was a minimalist approach and it just left Glen out there with the song and the guitar. I tended to write a little bit more as an arranger, and probably too much. So I could have done better to have stayed out of Glen's way, I think."
  • Galveston is a city on the coast of Texas that attracts lots of hurricanes. Webb was on a beach in Galveston when he wrote this. He made up the story about a soldier in the Spanish-American war and the girl he left behind. Most songwriters never find themselves in places like Galveston or Wichita, but Webb found inspiration in the people he encountered in these places.
  • The Vietnam War was going on when Campbell released this. It was considered an antiwar song.
  • The Hawaiian singer Don Ho was the first to record this song, releasing it as the B-side of his single "Has Anybody Lost A Love?" in 1968. Ho recalled that when he appeared on Campbell's show The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour in 1969, he gave Campbell a copy of the single and told him, "I didn't have any luck with this, maybe you will."
  • Little Richard, who speaks his mind and doesn't hand out praise lightly, said of this song: "When Glen Campbell says one word 'Galveston' - it shakes me up. It takes me, man, that's the whole soul of it right there."
  • This made the CMT Top Ten list of all-time great country music songs. (thanks, Charles - Charlotte, NC)
  • David Nail covered this for his 2014 I'm a Fire album. "Him being a huge hero of mine, it was very important for me to show that I had such a fondness for him," Nail explained to Taste of Country of his connection to Campbell. "I made a little elementary school note 'check yes or no' and just listened to the songs and held it up to my producer Frank Liddell, knowing full well that he would most likely pick 'Galveston.'"

Nail turned the song into a duet with Lee Ann Womack. The songbird is married to Liddell, and he was able to get her to join Nail for its recording. "My wife is a huge Glen Campbell fan, so she came and sang on it," said Liddell. "I think it's one of the most beautiful things on the record."

    Daughter Lyrics

    Daughter
  • Peter Blegvad wrote this song two decades into a music career that included stints in the bands Henry Cow and Slapp Happy. He told us the story of "Daughter":

As everyone knows, a parent's love for their child is partly narcissism. My daughter, Kaye, was 3 when I wrote the song - long enough for me to have recognized this fact in myself and seen it manifested in the behavior of other parents. It's natural, maybe even a crucial element, but the narcissism has to be watched, obviously. (Think of Dr. Evil and Mini-Me in Austin Powers). The comedy of all that amused me, and I didn't think anyone had treated that in a song before. I was vaguely thinking of Stevie Wonder singing "Isn't She Lovely" and Frank Sinatra singing "Nancy (With the Laughing Face)" and I wanted to write something that would express that kind of love honestly but also hint at the complexities which come with that role and responsibility.

The chord sequence is uplifting, but "Daughter" is maybe more sardonic than I think some people realize. It's about unconditional commitment to the task of raising a child, but it's also about the vanity and narcissism of the parent.
  • This song was popularized by Loudon Wainwright III, who recorded it for the 2007 movie Knocked Up. In the film, it plays in a touching scene where Katherine Heigl and Seth Rogen bring their little girl home from the hospital.

It's one of the few songs Wainwright recorded that he didn't write, and it became his most popular, even surpassing his 1973 novelty hit "Dead Skunk" in downloads. Wainwright played an obstetrician in the movie and recorded the de facto soundtrack, Strange Weirdos, which included this song on the tracklist. The album was co-produced by Joe Henry.

Wainwright and Blegvad had toured together and remained good friends, which is how Loudon came across the song. Wainwright typically mentions Blegvad's authorship when he performs the song.
  • An irony of this song is that Loudon Wainwright III has had a fraught relationship with his children, three of whom - Rufus, Martha and Lucy - are musicians. A song like this one about the unconditional commitment to a child is at odds with Loudon's real life: he was constantly touring and spent most of his time away from his kids. Martha even wrote a song about him called "Bloody Mother F--king A--hole."
  • This is a very popular song at weddings. In our 2014 interview with Loudon Wainwright III , he explained: "Practically every show that I do now, fathers come up to me and say that they danced to that song at their daughter's wedding. The song has had a big impact to a lot of people."

    Album: Brushfire Fairytales

    Bubble Toes Lyrics

It's as simple as something that nobody knows
That her eyes are as big as her bubbly toes
On the feet of a queen of the hearts of the cards
And her feet are all covered with tar balls and scars
It's as common as something that nobody knows
That her beauty will follow wherever she goes
Up the hill in the back of her house
In the world she love me forever,
    I know she could

I remember when you and me mmm how we used to be just good friends
    Wouldn't give me none
But all I wanted was some
She's got a whole lot of reasons
She can't think of a single one
    That can justify leaving
And he got none but he thinks he got so many problems
Man he got, too much time to waste

    His dreams are like commercials
But her dreams are picture perfect and
Our dreams are so related though they're often underestimated

It's as simple as something that nobody knows that
Her eyes are as big as her bubbly toes
On the feet of the queen of the hearts of the cards
And her feet are infested with tar balls and

La da da da da da

Well I was eating lunch at the D. L. G.
When this little girl came and she sat next to me
I never seen nobody move the way she did
Well she did and she does and she'll do it again

When you move like a jellyfish
    Rhythm don't mean nothing
    You go with the flow
    You don't stop
    Move like a jellyfish
    Rhythm is nothing
    You go with the flow
    You don't stop

It's as common as something that nobody knows it
Her beauty will follow wherever she goes
Up the hill in the back of her house in the wood
She'll love me forever, I know she

La da da da da da

    If you would only listen
You might just realize what you're missing
    You're missing me
    If you would only listen
You might just realize what you're missing
    You're missing me

It's as simple as something that nobody knows that
Her eyes are as big as her bubbly toes
On the feet of the queen of the hearts of the cards
And her feet are infested with tar balls and

    Bubble Toes
  • This song is titled after a cute nickname Johnson has for his wife. Johnson introduced this tune during a July 2010 concert in Hartford, Connecticut by saying, "I wrote this song when I was trying to get this girl one time." A few bars into the song, he leaned back into the microphone and added: "I ended up getting her, too."
  • Jack and his wife used to live in Santa Barbara, California, and they both went to the University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB). The part that goes "I was eating lunch at the DLG when this little girl came and she sat next to me" refers to the De La Guerra dinning hall at UCSB. Apparently Mrs. Johnson was there and some guy she didn't like was trying to hook up with her. She sat down next to Jack so it would look like she was taken. (thanks, tess - sb, CA)
  • In a Rolling Stone interview, Johnson said: "A song like 'Bubble Toes,' I don't know if I would've written that song knowing a million people were gonna hear it," Johnson says. "It was like a joke to my wife around the house, and then a couple of friends liked it, and then people asked for it at shows." When his record sales reached 100,000, Johnson was staggered. "I said, 'We don't even know that many people." (thanks, Jenn - Aberdeen, MD)
  • When Johnson sings "La da da da da da," he had planned on putting words there for the album, but when the time came no words came to mind so he just went with it. (thanks, Harrison - Natchez, MS)
  • Brushfire Fairytales was Johnson's first album. He was working on films when a demo of his music caught the attention of Ben Harper's producer J.P. Plunier, who agreed to produce the album. After a great deal of touring, Johnson built a following and the album reached the Top 40 in the US. (thanks, Bertrand - Paris, France)

    Double Lifetime Lyrics

    Double Lifetime
  • This song is a duet with Ramblin' Jack Elliott, who is one of Wainwright's idols. With just their voices and acoustic guitars, the pair sing about the disappointment of coming to the end of life just as you start to figure it out. In our interview with Wainwright , he said: "That album is all about mortality and so it just seems like I just developed that idea and then got my hero Jack Elliott to sing it with me."
  • Wainwright's father was a writer for Life magazine. This song title came from a phrase that Loudon found in one of his dad's notebooks.
