Like the rest of the album, this focuses on war, and Roger Waters' displeasure with "Maggie," Prime Minister at that time. Thatcher had just initiated the Falkland Islands "war," referred to obfuscatorially in "The Post-War Dream." This is most likely what the song refers to in the lines about taking the Union Jack (name for the British flag) and Maggie taking a cruiser to make him give it back.

This unabashed, jaunty declaration of love finds Blunt sending postcards from his heart to his lover. It is one of many songs on Moon Landing that concern matters of the heart and the record's release coincided with Blunt's relationship with Sofia Wellesley, the granddaughter of the current Duke of Wellington and a descendant of the Iron Duke himself. During an interview with the Daily Telegraph, Blunt was asked if the album is about Sofia? "I think I probably tap into lots of different things along the way," he replied. "One song might come from a mixture of different experiences. But, yes, this album is absolutely about my life where I am at the moment, rather than my life in the past."

Everytime You Go Away

This was written by Daryl Hall and originally recorded by Hall & Oates for the duo's 1980 album, Voices, but was not released as a single; Young's version became a hit nearly five years later. In the October 16, 2009 issue of Entertainment Weekly, Daryl Hall listed this as one of his favorite Hall & Oates songs and explained: "Paul Young had a pop hit with it a few years after we released it. It's just one of those songs. I feel very proud of its craftsmanship."

This was the biggest hit for Young. He contributed to Band Aid in 1984 and had hits with covers of R&B classics "Oh Girl" and "What Becomes Of The Brokenhearted."

This song became one of the biggest hits with a grammar gaffe in the title. "Everytime" is not a word, so it should read "Every Time You Go Away." Young could point the finger at songwriter Daryl Hall or just enjoy the company of other grammatically questionable songs .

The video was one of the first directed by Nick Morris , who soon after did the iconic video for Europe's "The Final Countdown." In our interview with Morris, he explained: "Paul Young, I'd seen him loads of times as a student because he used to play all these club nights at universities and so on. I knew he was a really good live, sweaty, rock and roll guy, and I wanted to capture that. That's why we used the slow motion, that's why we used the backstage stuff."

Creating a video for a mid-tempo song that showcases the artist was not an easy task, but the slow motion, desaturated look with lots of candid shots worked very well. This style was copied by a number of other artists, notably Bon Jovi in their video for "Wanted Dead Or Alive."

Clay Aiken covered this on his 2006 album, A Thousand Different Ways.

Young's success with the song didn't produce any sour grapes for Daryl Hall, who credited him with tapping into the commercial potential he failed to see the first time around. Hall told Music Connection: "I never thought of it any other way than the way it was 'til Paul Young did it ... I was just doin' a kind of gospel/soul song; that was all I had in mind for it. I was really surprised to hear the production they did because it kept the elements but commercialized it - made it sound like a pop record."

Hall and Young performed this as an extended duet at a New York show in 1985.

In a 2014 Songfacts interview , Daryl Hall said he still counts this as one of his favorite covers of a Hall & Oates song.

That's Life

The "scowl" in Sinatra's voice was a result of producer Jimmy Bowen telling Sinatra, after the recording session, to get out of his car and back in the studio to re-record the vocal. This made Frank VERY angry, which is evident in the song. That was the exact "feel" that Bowen wanted.

This very optimistic song was written by Dean Kay and Kelly Gordon. Kay became a successful music publisher, and Gordon made a mark as a producer. Sinatra had a lot of ups and downs in his personal and professional life, and this song was a great showcase for his spirit and resilience. The phrase "That's Life" is often used to convey disappointment, but here Sinatra sees all the good things that life brings.

This was one of two Sinatra songs - the other being "Strangers in the Night" - prominently featured in the '80s comedy License to Drive. Les (Corey Haim) takes his crush (Heather Graham) out for a wild night in his grandpa's Cadillac, which has a Sinatra cassette stuck in the tape player. This song plays when Les and his friends frantically chase a drunk who steals the car for a joyride (and sings along to Sinatra's tune).

Kellie Pickler pays tribute to her great-grandmother on this song. "She was a spitfire," Pickler recalled. "She lived in this little trailer in front of [my grandparents' house] for over 40 years. Butterflies

Marsha Ambrosius of the English Neo-Soul duo Floetry wrote this ballad when she was still at school. She and her Floetry colleague Natalie Stewart both attended the Brit School for Performing Arts & Technology. They met Jackson through John McClain, DreamWorks's senior urban executive who also manages Jackson. Jacko heard this song and decided he wanted to record it.

Jackson invited the two Floetry girls to the studio to the studio, and asked for their input on the recording of the song. Natalie Stewart of Floetry told Yahoo: "It was incredible because he asked, he continually, asked, 'Marsh, what's the next harmony? Girls, does this sound right? What do you think? Is this what you were looking for? He was so open."
Marsha Ambrosius told Yahoo that it took a few minutes for her to calm down. She recalled: "To begin with, I was kinda shook. Because you don't realize how you're going to feel until you're put in that kind of situation. I had the tears in my eyes and got kinda nervous. But as I got into it, I realized it was work, it was a job. I had to vocally conduct a legend."

Ambrosius told VH1 that Stewart had a dream that the two girls were in a limo with Michael. She continued, "He was singing a song and it was like, 'Oh, I like that song.' A year later, we're in the studio cutting 'Butterflies' with Michael Jackson."

A year after this appeared on Invincible, Floetry's original version was included as a bonus track on the English version of their debut album Floetic.

Michael Jackson has said that this is his favorite song on the album.

The song was inspired by Marsha Ambrosius' own "butterflies." "I had a crush on a guy In London and I had butterflies in my stomach. I was too shy to tell him," she admitted to The Boombox . "The song came easy. I was in the studio with Michael about two months after I arrived in America from England. Unbelievable."

Jewels n' Drugs

This boisterous, Trap-like Hip-Hop tune finds Gaga telling a tale of fame addiction with the help of Atlanta rapper T.I., Bay Area legend Too $hort and Chicago spitter Twista. Gaga told Chicago's B96: "I can tell you that Twista and T.I. and Too $hort, that entire experience making 'Jewels N' Drugs' was super fearless and they were so excited about being a part of the community of my fans and sharing their community of fans with mine."

Too $hort spoke to MTV News about his work on this track: "I was doing some songs last year with one her producers, DJ White Shadow," he revealed. "He's been pretty busy, doing his thing around the world and he got back at me a little while ago and said, 'There's a song that Lady Gaga's doing that possibly they would want to get you on … so I said, s— I'm down with it!'"

Producer White Shadow told MTV News that the three rappers were chosen because they "just [wanted] to do something that was not quite as obvious as what was out there already."

Twista raps on his verse: "And I'mma be as strange as Lady Gaga." He explained to MTV News how Gaga is strange to him. "To just know you're free-minded and you're willing to take risks," he said, "and do what it takes to bring something different to the industry than what everybody has seen before."

Twista recalled to MTV News a phone conversation that he had with Gaga before recording his verse. "When she decided to put the track together, she wanted to put a vibe of certain artists together to complement what she was doing," he said. "It was me and $hort at the time that was talking to her and she was just telling us, 'Man, you, T.I., $hort, I want y'all to be on this vibe, y'all to capture the essence of what I want to do on this song.'"

The rapper didn't get to the meet the pop star until she performed with him and Too $hort at the iTunes Festival in London in September 2013. However, T.I. did lay down his verse in the studio with Gaga after a chance meeting. "I didn't go there to do a record," Tip said. "I was recording in a room down the hall and somebody came and got me and said, 'LG wants to holla at you.' "

I Don't Dance

The first single from Lee Brice's third album was originally penned by the singer-songwriter for the first dance with his wife at their April 2013 wedding. "I was trying to keep it a secret, but then I had to play it out one night," he told CBS Detroit's 99.5 WYCD. "And she got mad, because I was playing it out before we got married."

He added: "It's a tough guy being a tough guy going, 'Look, I don't dance, but I'll dance with you, I'll do whatever you want me to.'"

When Lee Brice sat down to work on an idea for a song he had called "I Don't Dance" with his pals Rob Hatch and Dallas Davidson he wasn't expecting it would wind up being the lead single for his third album. "In my mind it was a song for Sarah, before we got married," he told Radio.com . "It was kind of about our first dance."

But during that writing session, the tune took on a new life of its own. "Immediately when we finished writing it, I realized it wasn't just a song I was writing for my wife," Brice continued. "Maybe because it was coming from that place," (but whatever the cause), "it turned out so special."

The song's music video was directed by Ryan Smith. It switches between scenes of Brice playing in an empty Ryman Auditorium and snatches from his own wedding.

Lee Brice first met Sara Reeveley in the early 2000s in South Carolina. They married in the mountain resort town of Branson, Missouri on April 21, 2013.

This is the title track of Lee Brice's third album. He told Rolling Stone that calling the whole album 'I Don't Dance' is symbolic of his refusal to, "dance in the box of Nashville."

The song won Single Record of the Year at the 2015 ACM Awards.

This is Kurt Cobain's most autobiographical song. The lyrics contain references to his father ("I tried hard to have a father but instead I had a dad"), his wife Courtney Love ("If she floats, then she is not a witch") and his own success ("teenage angst has paid off well").

The witch reference about Courtney Love in the first verse was Cobain's frustration with the press for constantly vilifying Love as a horrible wife, mother, drug addict and detriment to Nirvana.

The divorce of Cobain's parents inspired the line, "That legendary divorce is such a bore."

The recording of this fragile and haunting ballad about losing someone was an emotional experience for the Little Mix girls. "We each passed a mic around talked about our experiences of people we've lost, boyfriends, everything," Leigh-Anne explained to Digital Spy . "Then we ended up writing what we think is the best song we've ever done."

Perrie added that the quartet had originally planned to come up with an uptempo track that day and not a ballad.
