This power ballad was released as the lead single and title track from Céline Dion's eleventh English-language studio album. The song was premiered live by Dion at her Une seule fois show in Las Vegas on July 27, 2013.

The song was written by Australian singer-songwriter Sia Furler, whose credits include Rihanna's "Diamonds," David Guetta's "Titanium" and Flo Rida's "Wild Ones." It was Celine Dion's first single release since "My Love" in 2008. "I've been gone for six years," she told Billboard magazine. "There's a time where you think, 'Do you think people will write songs for me?'"

"I'm at the mercy of the songs because I don't write my material," Dion added. But I could not believe what I was hearing. I'm not trying to reinvent myself, I don't want people to think, 'This is a brand new Celine,' but I am at a place in my career where I'm 45, I'm at the peak of my life, and I've never felt like this before. I want to have a good time."

Dion performed this song for the first time on September 6, 2013 on the TV show Jimmy Kimmel Live. When Dion sat down for her interview, Kimmel engaged her in a discussion about whether it really was possible to love someone back to life, with Kimmel insisting it was impossible. Dion insisted that you could, explaining that someone in a coma could conceivably be loved back to life with prayers.

Dion was clearly excited about this recording. The Canadian singer is seen falling off a couch in a recording studio as she listens to the song after laying down her vocals. "When I hear something that comes from me that makes me fall down off my chair, it's not often," said Dion. "When the young generation offers me a song - Sia - that writes for Rihanna, that my (teenage) kid thought it was a mistake that she sent me that song. 'That's not true! That's not possible! Sia wrote you a song? I mean c'mon really?' It's such a powerful, powerful song and its edgy."

This track had to be rush-recorded in a motel room in El Paso, Texas. "It was like a 115°F [46°C] outside so we had to turn the air conditioning off so we could actually record the microphones, and it just got unbelievably hot," the band's Iain Cook told BBC's Newsbeat.

"Maybe that was helpful though, to enhance our performance," singer Lauren Mayberry added.

Mayberry told Coup De Main magazine this is her favorite track on The Bones of What You Believe. She explained: "It was the last, last one we finished to go on the record - we didn't know if it was going to make it or if we were going to save it for something else. I think it probably represents for me where the band is at best, the sounds and the lyrics and the production feels to me, the most Chvrches song on it. My Heart Will Go On

This was written for the movie Titanic. James Horner came up with the music for this song and scored the film. Horner is a very popular composer of orchestral music, and has written scores for many movies, including Braveheart, Apollo 13 and Aliens.

Will Jennings wrote the lyrics. Jennings is a prolific lyricist who worked with Steve Winwood on many of his hits and also wrote songs for Rodney Crowell, Barry Manilow, Eric Clapton, B.B. King, Roy Orbison and many others. Jennings told us the inspiration behind the lyrics to this song:
"James Horner, who I had worked with on other films, asked me to come to his house and consider writing something for Titanic. James told me the story of the script and then played me the theme he had written for the film. The character Rose, looking back over the all those years, caught my imagination and I connected her with a 100+ year old woman, still working, still vital, Beatrice Wood, who I had met a few years before in Ojai, California, an hour or so north of where I lived in Westlake Village. Wood had been an artist in New York before World War I and had lived and worked in France, and wound up in California and finally in Ojai, working as a fine arts potter. My wife and I happened to be in Ojai when the premiere of a film called Mama of Dada, a documentary about Wood's life, was shown and we went to see it and Ms. Wood herself showed up, very much alive and lively, 101+, and talked about the film before it was shown and then received all of the people at the premiere at a hotel across the street from the theatre where the film was shown. When she shook my hand I had such a feeling of vitality and life force - it was like nothing in my life before or since. When James told me the script, I focused on Rose and thought of Beatrice Wood, who was old enough to have been Rose, and I still had the feeling I had of the life force I felt when I touched Beatrice Wood's hand, and it was from this feeling that I wrote the lyric for 'My Heart Will Go On.' When James and I were working on the film, the rumor was that Jim Cameron had gone crazy in Mexico spending too much money and the film would be a big flop. The rumor was wrong. The film was a huge hit. The song was a huge hit. I am still getting over it. Totally unexpected."

When Jennings writes song for movies, he often looks at a script or sees a rough cut of the film. This wasn't the case with this song, as he drew inspiration from Horner's narrative. Says Jennngs, "I wrote everything from the point of view of a person of a great age looking back so many years. It was the love story that made the film, of course. It was magnificently done with special effects, the actors were good. But the love story was what it was."

According to Jennings, Celine Dion was the first choice to sing this. Jennings and Horner worked together on the 1991 movie Feival Goes West and wrote the song "Dreams To Dream" for the film, which Dion wanted to sing but went to Linda Ronstadt. After he and Jennings wrote this, Horner played it for Dion and she agreed to sing it. (Check out our interview with Will Jennings.)

This won the 1998 Oscar for Best Song From A Film and Grammys for Record Of The Year, Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, Song Of The Year and Best Song for a Motion Picture.

Worldwide, this was the biggest selling single of 1998 and in the UK it sold 1,312,551 copies, making Celine Dion the only woman with 2 million-selling singles in the UK. (The other was 1994's 'Think Twice'.)

This was named the best film song of all time in a 2010 survey decided by listeners of U.K. radio station Magic. Runner-up in the poll was Take That's "Rule The World" and in third place came Aerosmith's "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing."

According to Tommy Mottola, who was chairman of Sony Music at the time, Dion didn't want to record this song. He claims that he had to convince her to record the demo, but when she nailed it in one take, they used that demo track on the actual recording since it was so good.

On The Road To Find Out

This is about a young man who wants to see the world for himself, so he sets out on a journey into the world where he can clear his mind and see what he can discover.

"On The Road To Find Out" was inspired by a deep spiritual emptiness in the composer's life. He was not writing about traveling in a literal sense but in finding out who he was and the purpose if any of his existence. Cat Stevens had fame and fortune thrust upon him at an early age, and like so many people in a similar position he looked at what he'd accomplished and realized it had brought him neither happiness nor peace of mind. This was one of the songs he wrote after recovering from tuberculosis, a disease that had all but been eradicated in the Western world by the time he contracted it, and which in his case was caused by personal neglect and fast living.
In 1977, he converted to Islam after several years of serious contemplation of religion. He played his final concert in November 1979 then withdrew totally from music for over two decades. In 2004, after his return as Yusuf Islam, he featured in a TV documentary where he told presenter Alan Yentob that his songs were a narrative to his life – none more so than "On The Road To Find Out."

The last couplet reads "...the answer lies within, so why not take a look now? Kick out the Devil's sin, pick up, pick up a good book now."
When asked about this he told Yentob that – as far as he recalled - he had originally written "pick up the Good Book now" - an obvious allusion to the Bible, but had altered it to avoid its being taken up by "Bible bashers."

Although they are separated by three decades, and the latter is written in the third person singular, "On The Road To Find Out" is strikingly similar in content to "Drops Of Jupiter (Tell Me)," which was inspired by an entirely different subject, but has been and can be interpreted as a voyage of self-discovery.

Crossfade lead singer Ed Sloan wrote this song not about a specific person, but about himself. In our 2011, interview, Sloan explained: "Back then, I had a girlfriend, I saw my family every day. I love my mother and my father and that sort of thing. And I started really sinking my life into writing that first album of which 'Cold' was one of the songs. And I noticed the distance starting to grow between my girlfriend and I and my family a little bit, as far as the time that I was able to spend.

Music is really the only way that I emote to people. I'm a hermit kind of guy. I spend my time alone. So I tend to write songs about my life to people that I love - 'Cold' is just like that. I wrote that song after going through that period of time when I was neglecting a lot of my friends and my family and my loved ones because of my music. Which wound up paying off, but I lost some friends because of all the time that I devoted to that record. And so I think that was my song saying, 'Listen, I'm sorry for the way that I am. I don't mean to be this cold to you. This is what I have to do.' And just making my apologies via song. I never really thought about both of those songs and how similar they are, just from different times of my life."

When Sloan started writing this song, he was "just really f-ing mad." Said the singer, "I just sat down with a drum kit and recorded a bit, and I immediately started out with that heavy riff. And I started singing at the top of my lungs (singing), 'Looking back at me' - that one definitely started as heavy as I could get it, because I was trying to get out my emotions to them, like, 'Look, it's not my fault, I can't help the way I am.'"

About a year after this song found the charts, Crossfade's record label had them record an acoustic version of the song, which proved very popular.

Crossfade's first single, this reached #2 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart spending 46 weeks on the list. For a time it was the longest-running hit in the chart's history until 30 Seconds To Mars overtook them with the 52-week-charting "The Kill (Bury Me)."

SuperLove

This was released as the first single from Charli XCX's sophomore major label album. "'SuperLove' is a song about running away and falling in love with someone," she said, "and it being really dangerous and bad for you but still amazing, romantic and wonderful."

Charli added that the song was influenced by artists like Bow Wow Wow, The Waitresses and The Flying Lizards as well as "those Lolita-esque bratty French girls and other girl power heroines." She wrote the tune the same week as "I Love It." "Let's just say I was in a similar mind frame," she said.

Although the song was originally announced as the lead single from Charli's then un-titled second major-label studio album, it was eventually not included on Sucker.

The song's music video was shot in Tokyo's Robot Restaurant by Charli's boyfriend, Welsh movie director Ryan Andrews (Elfie Hopkins).

The song is more commercial than Charli's previous offerings. She told Digital Spy : "I wasn't really thinking that I had to create a radio friendly song or anything, it just happened. This song features a guest vocal turn from Scissor Sisters' Jake Shears. Cher described the song to Billboard magazine as "very double-entendre," adding that "it's a beautiful song that's crazy and raucous, and rocks out and is a great dance song."

This includes some vocoder effects on Cher's and Shear's vocals. Cher previously employed vocal manipulation to great impact on her 1998 chart-topping single "Believe." "What we did with his voice is so strange," Cher told Billboard, "but I know he's gonna love it."

This the only track on Closer To The Truth that Cher was involved in writing. The singer originally penned it with Canadian songwriter Shirley Eikhard (Bonnie Rait, Anne Murray) for the 1994 film adaptation of Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire. "They didn't love it and there were no other vampire outlets then, so I held it," Cher explained to USA Today. The "Believe" songstress added that she seldom records her own material because "it's moody and introspective, a bit dark and very personal. I write about Kurt Cobain's death and homeless people. Sirens

This poignant and soaring anthem was written by American indie singer Nell Bryden and inspired by her hometown New York, and her personal experience in the devastating aftermath of 9/11. Having avoided writing about the events for ten years, Bryden began describing her experience to Patrick Mascall at Metrophonic Studios as the ten-year anniversary of 9/11 approached and by the end of the day she had completed the song. It was included on the singer-songwriter's 2012 Shake The Tree album.

This sweeping-strings weepy ballad was penned by Pink and her frequent collaborator, Billy Mann. Cher described it to Billboard magazine as, "the ballad that all the women cry at."

The song is the closing track of Cher's 26th album, Closer To The Truth.
