Old School Love

This stand alone single is an easygoing, positive jam that finds the Chi-City rhymer reminiscing about the good old days of hip-hop as he shouts out old school rappers such as The Fat Boys, Melle Mel and Ice-T.

English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran croons the chorus. While it may seem like an unexpected match, the "The A Team" singer has previously collaborated with several rappers from his home country including Devlin on the UK Top Ten single "Watchtower" and Wretch 32 on the track "Hush Little Baby."

Sheraan told Nova FM back in February 2013 that he was about to record the song with Lu. "We have the same A&R in America and… he just gave me about seven beats and said write choruses to all of these beats," he said. "Lupe loved one of them and is going to hop on it. I'm a massive Lupe Fiasco fan so it's cool."

Lu created a blog for his fans to share some memories of their old school love.

The song samples the piano riff from Kanye West’s "Family Business" off his 2004 debut album The College Dropout.

The recording is a stark live acoustic performance from Brooks' show at the Wynn Las Vegas, which features Yearwood. "We tried cutting this song with a full band, but kept going back to the Wynn performance, where it's just like two people talking to each other," he noted. "The echo-type piece in this is something I haven't seen since 'Mockingbird' with James Taylor and Carly Simon. I love how unique this song sounds, and when you bring it down to just two voices and a guitar, the conversation happens."

Jamie Quinn is a London-based Drum and Bass producer and DJ, who records under the name of Matrix. In 2002 Quinn had a hit as one-half of the house duo, Goldtrix. Happens

Hailing from Morden, South London, Sampha Sisay is the youngest of five brothers to Sierra Leonean parents. He discovered music at a young age through his siblings and father's eclectic record collection and started writing songs on the piano. Sampha's initial breakthrough came in 2011 when he co-wrote and sang on half of producer SBTRKT's debut album, and collaborated with Jessie Ware on her track "Valentine." The English singer-songwriter really made a name for himself in 2013 when he co-produced and sung on two tracks from Drake's hugely successful Nothing Was The Same album - "Too Much" and "The Motion." Robbert van de Corput is a Dutch Progressive and Electro House DJ and music producer, who is better known by his stage name of Hardwell. He is from the same Netherlands town as Tiesto, who was named "World's #1 DJ" three consecutive times by DJ Magazine from 2002 through 2004. Hardwell himself was awarded the prestigious honor for the first time in 2013.

This anthemic number about leaving one's hometown was debuted during a commercial from RED and Bank of America that aired during the 2014 Super Bowl on February 2nd. RED is an international charity dedicated to raising funds and awareness for HIV and AIDS, which was co-founded by Bono in 2006.

The song was made available as a limited-edition free download on iTunes for the first 24 hours after the Super Bowl commercial aired. For every download during that time, Bank of America promised to donate $1 (up to $2 million) to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria in many of the world's poorest countries.

According to the band's website, by the time the free downloads ended the total sum raised was $3,138,470.

Bono told DJ Zane Lowe on his BBC Radio 1 show that the band thought back to their late '70s roots for this song and the rest of the album. "We listened to all this extraordinary music in the late '70s and started to think about those times and the things that made us who we were," the U2 frontman said. "We went back to why we wanted to be in a band in the first place. It opened up a whole valve for me writing and it was a dam burst of sorts. Punk rock and electronic [music] was when it started for us. We were listening to the Ramones and Kraftwerk and you can hear both of those things on 'Invisible.'"

The Mark Romanek directed music video was shot in a Santa Monica airport hangar over three days in January 2014. One Hour Photo director Mark Romanek's resume includes such classic music clips as Jay Z's "99 Problems," Johnny Cash's "Hurt" and Michael and Janet Jackson's "Scream."

This was written by Yoko Ono , was produced by her, John Lennon and Phil Spector, and was released on the Apple label January 21, 1972 as the B Side of "Mind Train."

This was not though the first recording of the song; in his authorized biography of Al Stewart, Neville Judd reveals that it was actually recorded, apparently for the first time, in the basement flat at number 10 Elvaston Place. Al moved there on January 1, 1968, and no, his relationship with Yoko was strictly professional, by that time he had already hooked up with Mandi, the love of his life and the woman who nearly wrecked his head, until he met his future wife at the age of 42.

When Yoko recorded the 45, she sent him a copy.

This bass-laden carnival track samples the song "Dibby Dibby" by the Moombahton St. Louis producer Jay Fay. (Moombahton is a fusion genre of house music and reggaetón. The name was coined by American DJ and producer Dave Nada as a blend of Dutch house DJ Chuckie's track "Moombah" and reggaetón).

According to the press release, having decided that he wanted to give Jay Fay's original "Dibby Dibby" a carnival vibe, Fresh, "conducted exhaustive, encyclopedic research into traditional Brazilian drum beats to re-create an authentic carnival sound, re-playing and re-creating individual drum beats and sounds himself."

The song's music video was directed by The Sacred Egg, who also worked with Breach on their clips for "Jack" and "Everything You Never Had (We Had It All)." The visual, which was shot in Middlesex, ends up with a house party featuring Fresh and Ms. Dynamite.

This provocative Irish Republican ballad was written by Gerry O'Glacain to commemorate the Ten IRA and INLA members who died during the 1981 Irish hunger strike in Northern Ireland. Le Youth teamed up with Dominique Young Unique for this song. The Florida rapper and model first gained recognition when she featured on DJ Fresh and Diplo's 2013 hit tune "Earthquake."

The song first surfaced in demo form in the summer of 2012 before being polished up and released as the follow up to Le Youth's debut single, "Cool."

Stoner

Young Thug (real name Jeffrey L. Williams) is an Atlanta rapper who grew to prominence in 2013 after releasing his mixtape 1017 Thug to positive critical reception. His song "Danny Glover" became an Internet-driven hit and received a number of remixes featuring the likes of Waka Flocka Flame and Nicki Minaj.

This song addresses Young Thug's admiration for weed. It became his first major hit, cracking the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot Rap Songs chart as well as entering the Hot 100.

Young Thug repeats, "I feel like Fabo" in increasingly desperate cadences during both the first verse and the outro. Fabo was a member of the Atlanta rap group D4L, who had a #1 hit with "Laffy Taffy," and was known for his drug use. Thug still remembers sneaking into Bankhead's Club Crucial as a kid to see them perform. "Damn, I used to want to be like D4L," he recalled to Fader magazine. "Everybody who rapped, I wanted to be like. Pretty sure I don't want to be like them now, though."

The instrumentation was provided by Dun Deal after then 16-year-old Young Thug approached the Atlanta-based producer and asked if he could help him record his raps. "I wasn't thinking he'd want that beat so when I played it and he showed an interest I finished it up in like 15 minutes," he told MTV News.

Young Thug then took another quarter of an hour to record his verse.

This track is a cover of Cameo's 1986 hit of the same name and was first played on Nick Grimshaw's BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show on January 21, 2014. The single was released to UK stores on March 16, 2014.

The song was recorded in aid of Sport Relief, a biannual UK charity event that brings together celebrities from the sport and entertainment worlds to raise money to benefit vulnerable people. "We've all seen people push themselves and do incredible things for Sport Relief, so it's a dream come true to be releasing the official single this year," said Little Mix's Perrie.

Mel C's appearance on set was a surprise for the foursome. "We didn't even know she was going to be there. Literally, we were filming and then she come running out," Little Mix's Jesi told MTV News. "It was so weird though, I was thinking, God, I was such a massive fan."

This single was inspired by Cody's love for surfing, and by his girlfriend, model Gigi Hadid, who is the daughter of TV personality Yolanda Foster.

Cody sings, "she on my surfboard, surfboard, gonna ride it- surfboard," in a similar fashion to Beyoncé's references to surfboards on her "Drunk In Love" single. Cody told MTV News that it was just coincidence that both he and Queen B croon lines about the long narrow board used to ride over waves. The Aussie singer added that he actually recorded the track before Beyoncé's single dropped. "Everyone was like, 'Beyonce did that' and I had the idea for a while. And then Beyonce's came out and I absolutely love that song, but when I heard it I didn't know if it was going to affect my idea at all," Cody said. "And at the end of the day I thought about it so much and I thought 'Hey it's a part of pop culture right now,' if I was going to release this song it would probably be the best time to do it, so I decided why not just go along with it now."

The song's music clip finds Cody creating his own surfboard from scratch. "I co-directed that video actually," he told MTV News. "I had a vision for the video to stay true to my Australian boy roots. I've been surfing my whole life just growing up in that culture."

We also see Cody on the beach and splashing in the water with his girlfriend, Gigi Hadid. "Working with my girl makes it so much more comfortable. I've never had a girlfriend in a music video before..." Cody said. "I thought, might as well have the girl in that inspired the song, and it just made the chemistry so natural. Some scenes where they didn't end up putting in the video was us kissing or whatever, but we ended up shooting those scenes as options, and they ended up yelling 'cut,' and we didn't stop."

Love Runs Out

The follow up to OneRepublic's "Counting Stars" single was a brand new track that didn't feature on their Native album. Speaking to Capital FM, frontman Ryan Tedder said: "The very short back story on the song was when we were working on Native I originally thought this was going to be the first single and it's called 'Love Runs Out' and I wanted it to be the first single, a few of us in the band did, but I could not finish the chorus. And you can't have a song without a chorus."

"It took me about a year," he added. "We finished it in Paris."

The video was directed by Sophie Muller. The British director has also worked on music videos for Sade, Björk and Katy B.

Faul & Wad Ad is a French House duo comprising DJs Maxime, who records under the pseudonym of Faul, and Wad Ad, the stage name of Camil Meyer. The pair first met at their Parisian school and started to produce music in between their studies.

Pnau is an Australian dance act, consisting of vocalist Nick Littlemore - best known for being one half of Empire of the Sun ("We Are The People") - and guitarist Peter Mayes. In 2012, Pnau released Good Morning to the Night, a collaborative record with Sir Elton John, which gave the knighted star his first #1 album in the UK for over two decades.

Faul & Wad Ad came across Pnau's 2008 single "Baby," which samples a children's choir and was a Top 40 hit for the pair in Australia. The Parisian duo put their deep house style spin on it and placed their adaptation online. They titled the new tune "Changes" and credited both the French and Australian sides of the creative process in equal measure. The track went on to become an international hit topping the German singles chart and reaching the Top Ten in many other European countries.

The song's music video was directed by Sofia Mattioli, who is a London-based artist and poet. The clip shows deaf children and young adults dancing in response to both the director's movements and the music's vibrations in the air. "I was on a train listening to music, getting deep into it, and this girl started staring at me," Mattioli told Nowness of the genesis of her visual. "After a while I took my headphones off and she came up to me, started signing and then wrote me a note to say that she was deaf but could almost feel the music by my movement."

With the germ of an idea from this chance encounter, Mattioli created the video using 13 members of the Manchester Deaf Centre. "The relationship between silence and music is a big part of what I am trying to express with my work," said Mattioli. "The first kid in the video, Archie, was bliss—all of them were amazing. I hope this is a project I can develop further."

The clip won Best Video at the 2014 Q Awards. Jamie told Q magazine how the video came about: "The idea came from Sofia," he said, "she's obsessed with the correlation between sound and silence and she wanted to see if her movements and vibrations of my song could influence deaf and partially deaf children and adults - to see if they would be able to dance to the music even if they couldn't hear it. It's a very honest, touching and I guess, beautiful video."

This samples the barbershop vocals from the Four Freshmen's 1952 track "It's a Blue World."
