This is about the absurdities of traditional weddings. The territorial battles, rings, and vows seem ridiculous from an outsiders point of view.

The lyrics were inspired by the early poetry of Dylan Thomas.

Gabriel's marriage to his first wife Jill hit a crisis when she had an affair with David Lord, the co producer of Security, and in this song he foreshadowed the marital tension. He told Mojo April 2010: "We think we're islands, but we're all connected in a landmass. What you see above the water is two people getting married. But beneath the water are the tentacles of two larger, dominant organisms which are the families making connection through those two particular tentacles. But we never observe and recognise that."

The title stands for "Do It Yourself." The song is about taking responsibility and control of your life.

Gabriel used an acoustic arrangement to distinguish this from his work with Genesis.

This was released as a single, but despite heavy promotion it was a commercial failure. When this did not sell as a single, Charisma Records, Gabriel's label in England, re-released it in September 1978 with both "Mother Of Violence" and "Me And My Teddy Bear" on the B-side. The original, released that May, was backed with "Perspective."

The mostly acoustic sound was chosen in hopes of mimicking the chart success of "Solsbury Hill." Bootlegs contain heavier electric versions of this.

This girl-group homage is one of two tracks on Sucker that Charli collaborated on with Vampire Weekend's Rostam Batmanglij. (The other one is "Die Tonight.") "He's just one of the most talented producers I've ever worked with, he really is," she told Digital Spy . "Being in the studio with him is always this intense… we just do everything together the week that we're working together: we'll sleep in the same bed, we'll go and watch the same shows and snuggle on the sofa, then we'll write a song, then we'll get breakfast, then we'll shout at each other for a bit. It's like so intense, it's good."

Rostam Batmanglij told Billboard magazine that Charli, "has this primal ability to write melodies and lyrics that are absolutely perfect, and to do it really fast."

Speaking to Radio.com about the track, Charli said it was "inspired by a lot of ye-ye pop, which is like '60s French girls. So like Sylvie Vartan, Brigitte Bardot, France Gall, people like that."

"I really like the kind of shout-y, childlike vocals that they did," she explained. "When I first started speaking to Rostam, those were the references that I gave him. We took a trip to Sweden together to work in this strange, empty hotel, which was kind of like The Shining. That's where we wrote 'Need Ur Love.'"

This song evolved out of a project where Gabriel studied inmates on death row to find out what made them kill. It's an angry song that deals with Gabriel's dark side. He explained to Uncut magazine: "I read lots trying to understand the buttons that operate and make you feel the way you do. When you have self knowledge, you don't fall into the same behavioral traps. One of the keys is – take responsibility. Blaming anyone else, especially in relationships is a futile activity and not going to move you forward."

Gabriel said this song is about "investigating the layers within yourself."

As part of his research on murderers, Gabriel read the book Our Why We Kill. Gabriel recalled to The Daily Mirror: "I'm sure, like any song, it reflects what was going on in my life,. I was reading a book called Why We Kill about what murderers have in common, the psychological make-up that unites them."

"I was also going through therapy myself so that had a bearing," he added. "It wasn't a cathartic experience where I revisited all the emotions, but the contrast between the dark and more reflective mood was something we concentrated on."

This was Gabriel's first new solo vocal recording in six years.

This won a Grammy for best short-form video in 1993. Gabriel opened the awards that year with a performance of "Steam."

Gabriel told The Daily Mirror: "That was probably the hardest one to do on the album because it was written around a groove and it just didn't make sense at first. I was really missing the bass and drums."

Electric Barbarella Song Chart

This song is about a man who falls in love with his robot lover. Duran Duran is named after the mad scientist character Durand-Durand in the 1968 movie Barbarella, but this song has very little to do with the movie's plot, which finds Barbarella traveling through space looking for a device that will save earth. The wacky sound effects from the movie are incorporated into this song.

Ellen Von Unwerth, a fashion photographer who worked on the album art, directed the video, in which lead singer Simon Le Bon plugs in a curling iron between the legs of his robot lover (played by a real person).

Von Unwerth specializes in sensual, striking images of beautiful women; Rihanna, Britney Spears and Claudia Schiffer have all been in front of her lens, but this is most likely the first time she portrayed one as an android.

This was the first single from Medazzaland, which sold poorly and marked a low point for Duran Duran. Their fortunes turned after the original five members of the band reunited in 2001 and played some very successful shows. Many contemporary artists came out in support of the band, citing them as an influence, Justin Timberlake and Gwen Stefani among them.

This song finds Cole reflecting on some of the mistakes he's made during his life that have ruined some of his most valuable relationships. The rapper acknowledges that he hasn't been the best servant, but he remains faithful to God and knows that his mom has 'apparently' always been rooting for him.

A guilty Cole apologizes in the first verse to his mom, Kay Cole, for leaving her to deal with foreclosure at his childhood home, 2014 Forest Hills Drive, in North Carolina, while he was away chasing girls and partying at New York's St. John's University. Eventually, in June 2014 Cole purchased the house back and renovated it to look exactly how it did when he lived there.

This was released as the first single from Cole's 2014 Forest Hills Drive LP. Despite being released late in the year on December 9th, it was the best-selling rap album of 2014 in the US.

Lauper wrote this song with Rick Chertoff, Gary Corbett and Stephen Broughton Lunt. Corbett is a keyboard player who has worked with Lou Gramm and Cinderella; Lunt also co-wrote Lauper's song "The Goonies 'R' Good Enough." Chertoff produced the album along with Eric Bazilian and Rob Hyman, who had some hit songs with their group The Hooters a year later, including "And We Danced" and "Day By Day." They also played backup on the album.

The author Lucy O'Brien used the title for a book about women in rock.

Lauper wanted kids to think this was about dancing. She was hoping they wouldn't understand the real meaning until they got older.

This song was inspired by frontman Jonathan Davis' youngest child Zeppelin's battle with Type 1 diabetes. It was recorded to raise funds for JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation), a major charitable organization dedicated to funding type 1 diabetes research.

Davis said: "It's a horrible disease and I really wanna do whatever I can do to make a difference to help find a cure for this. 'Cause it just doesn't affect my son. I feel for everyone who has this disease. It's not fair at all. And so I started writing this song, 'So Unfair', about it. Because you're asking a child not to eat candy. I've gotta watch his carbs, I've gotta watch the sugar count, I've gotta watch everything. And how do you tell a child, 'You can't eat this. You can't do this. You can't do that.' So it's been a constant battle with me."

"I constantly worry about… At night, I've had him… his blood sugar drop really low where it'd scare where he won't look up," he added. It's a very difficult thing to deal with."

Another Type 1 diabetes sufferer is Nick Jonas. He wrote the Jonas Brothers single "A Little Bit Longer" about his struggles with the disease.
