The Luka State is an English band from Winsford, Cheshire comprising lead vocalist and guitarist Conrad Ellis, bassist Sam Bell and drummer Jess Whitmore. This is their second single – it was initially released independently as a double A-Side with "Matter Of Time" on limited edition vinyl on August 22, 2013.

The song was produced by Sam Williams, who recorded Supergrass's 1995 first album, I Should Coco, then worked with their lead singer Gaz Coombes on his 2012 debut solo release Here Come The Bombs.

The song's music video was directed by cinematographer Oliver Kember and explores the issue of domestic violence against men. Kember told The Hollywood Reporter : "The idea for a domestic violence short film really came from the band. They had a very strong narrative idea within the lyrics of the song. We wanted the video to appear as gritty as possible, so we actually filmed the whole thing in a very guerilla fashion."

The clip stars Thomas Brodie-Sangster as the the victim of the domestic abuse, He is best known for playing Jojen Reed in HBO's Game of Thrones and has also had roles in Love Actually, Nowhere Boy, and Nanny McPhee. "I really liked the fact that the script shines a light on a very real problem," he told THR. "Domestic violence is never spoken about, but female-on-male aggression is practically invisible. Nobody, male or female, should have to be scared in their own home."

I Saw Her Again

This song was written by John Phillips, the leader of the Mamas And The Papas, about the affair between his wife, Michelle Phillips (a Mamas And Papas member), and Denny Doherty (also a Mamas And Papas member), which ultimately led to Michelle Phillips' unceremonious dismissal from the band and John and Michelle's divorce. Ironically enough, Doherty received a songwriting credit. The sessions for this album must have been as uncomfortable as were the sessions when Fleetwood Mac was recording the Rumours album 10 years later and the personal relationships in that band were imploding. Lou Adler produced this song, and Bones Howe was the engineer for the session. According to Bones, the part around the 1:45 mark where "I saw her" is repeated twice was a happy accident. Said Bones: "We were punching vocals in, and when we came to that part where the rhythm stops and the group goes, 'I saw her again last night,' I just punched in early. They came in early, and so we stopped. And then we went back and started again, and I punched in at the beginning of the vocal, they started two bars later or whatever it was. And when I played it back, the vocal went, 'I saw her - I saw her again.' It was a mistaken punch. And Lou said, 'I love it! Leave it in.' It was an error, it was a mistake. But Lou was wise enough, it caught his ear and he left it. And I learned something from that. You go with your gut. If something catches - they could be - there are wonderful mistakes that happen in the studio and you have to learn to catch those when they happen and use them."

This song about a woman who has experienced a loss in her life was written by Dave Berg, Deanna Bryant and Candy Cameron. Released as the second single from Cut to Impress, it peaked at #46 on the Country chart.

The heartbroken woman in the song resorts to things that she is not necessarily proud of, in order to make her feel better. Rose told American Songwriter magazine the tune has resonated with many of her fans. "It was overwhelming to hear these stories of loss and struggle from strangers but it was so beautiful at the same time to know that the message in that song carried so far and touched so many people," she said.

"I chose to cut that song because upon my first listen I reared up," Rose added. "Maybe it was something going on in my life at that time that made it more poignant but I knew that I wanted to share that relatable feeling with other people in my music. That's what it's all about."

Bow River

Like most of Cold Chisel's songs, this is about the working class ("I've been working hard, twelve hours a day..."). It describes the needs and wants of the working class man - the song has a very Aussie feel to it. (thanks, hayley - vic, Australia)

The members of Cold Chisel were: Jimmy Barnes (lead vocals), Ian Moss (vocals and lead guitar), Steve Prestwich (drums), Phil Small (bass) and Don Walker (keyboards). All members have gone on to have strong solo careers, with Barnes doing the strongest. He has a long list of albums, and toured globally supporting artists such as Bon Jovi. This appears on Cold Chisel's live albums Last Stand (1983) and Ringside (2003). The song was also recorded in 1991 by Ian Moss on his second solo album Worlds Away. Pitbull's followup single to his worldwide smash "Timber" is another blend of rap, EDM and country. This time Pitbull teams up with girl group G.R.L, who were formed by choreographer Robin Antin. They were originally intended to to be the new line up of The Pussycat Dolls following their disbandment in 2010. Artin later reformed the quintet as a brand-new group with a different name. One of the G.R.L members, Lauren Bennett, previously featured on LMAFO's smash hit "Party Rock Anthem."

This commercially-leaning single was written by Small Faces band members Steve Marriott and Ronnie Lane. It was a compromise between the band and their manager Don Arden as Arden wanted a very radio-friendly song. Keyboardist Ian McLagan recalled to Uncut magazine: "Just a little pop song. Steve and Ronnie were being shrewd. After that, they were the writers. I was music musically frustrated in the studio at this point, but live we were raw and raucous."

Released on May 6, 1966 with the B-side "Almost Grown," the song peaked at #10 on the UK singles chart.

This was written by the songwriting trio of Johnny Christopher, Mark James and Wayne Carson Thompson. It was originally recorded by Brenda Lee in 1971.

This song tells the story of a man who admits that he didn't always do the things he should have to show appreciation for his lady, but wants her to know he was always thinking about her.

The Country Music Association named this Single Of The Year in 1982. It also did very well at the Grammys, taking the awards for Song Of The Year, Best Male Country Vocal Performance, and Best Country Song. It was the first country song to take Song Of The Year, and it wasn't until the 2007 ceremonies when another country act got one: The Dixie Chicks for "Not Ready To Make Nice."

As part of a series of re-releases of Elvis songs in the UK in 2007 his version re-entered the UK chart at #17.

The Pet Shop Boys rendition of this song was voted the top cover version of all time in a 2014 BBC Music vote. Johnny Cash's interpretation of Nine Inch Nails' "Hurt" came in second place, followed by The Stranglers' cover of Dionne Warwick's "Walk On By."

Wayne Carson wrote this song in ten minutes at his kitchen table in Missouri. He competed it in the studio with the help of Johnny Christopher and Mark James.

Small Faces drummer Kenney Jones recalled the recording of this song to Uncut magazine March 2014: "There was a little tiny room in the basement of Olympic. We put a speaker in there with a mic and fed that back through the mixing desk, and that's what gave us our reverb and echo. That's where my great snare drum sound came from. I would get Glyn Johns to put those effects through my cans while I was recording so I could pick up the feel from there."

The BBC initially banned the song. Jones commented to Uncut: "The strange thing was that the BBC banned 'I Can't Make It because they reckoned it had some sexual reference, but happily played 'Here Comes the Nice,' which was blatantly about our drug pusher."

This was released as the lead single from Blacc Hollywood. "I like 'We Dem Boyz' as the first single because of the energy," Wiz told Billboard magazine. "It reaches so many audiences other than just a rap audience. It's kind of like how 'Black and Yellow' was – a big sports song to get everybody riled. It's more of anthem."

The song was debuted by Wiz via Shazam on February 10 2014. The concept being that when the video was Shazamed, fans could unlock the whole audio track on the app's feed. The Pittsburgh rapper was the first ever artist to premiere a track on the music identification service.

The video, directed by Ethan Lader, was filmed in Atlanta and done in a single shot. Big K.R.I.T., Rich Homie Quan, Chevy Woods, Ty Dolla $ign and B.o.B are among the rappers that make cameo appearances.

Speaking to Rap Radar about the Blacc Hollywood album title, Khalifa explained: "It just represents the lifestyle. Not really like, black people in Hollywood, but just like a black attitude. Not giving an 'F' about anything and just blacking out on the world, so, we're bringing that to Hollywood."

Blacc Hollywood debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, giving Wiz Khalifa his first ever chart-topping album.
